Principal's Message

Greetings Grant Community,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to introduce myself as the new Principal at Grant Elementary School. It is with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of commitment that I step into this role to serve the community and become a part of the Grant Elementary School Family beginning the Fall of 2023.
I come to Grant Elementary School with 23 years of experience in education, having served various roles in the Long Beach Unified School District as a college aide, teacher, program facilitator, and administrator. I have served as Principal at Bryant Elementary School, Roosevelt Elementary School, Interim Principal at Burnett Elementary School, Vice Principal at Roosevelt Elementary School, and Vice Principal at Grant Elementary School. I have attended schools in the Long Beach Unified School District from elementary through high school. I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education from Cal State University, Dominguez Hills. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to fostering a positive and inclusive learning and working environment that promotes academic excellence, personal growth, and a strong sense of community among students, staff, and parents/guardians.
In addition to my professional achievements, my greatest accomplishment is my family. I have raised my two children, Ariel (23) and Ryan (21) who have also attended and graduated from schools in the Long Beach Unified School District. I always desire for my children to gain independence and confidence to be all they can be. As a Principal, my educational philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student has unique talents, abilities, and potential waiting to be nurtured and fostered. I am committed to supporting our Grant students to have the best possible experience and for them to reach their full potential while also emphasizing the importance of character development, empathy, and resilience while at Grant Elementary.
Collaboration is at the heart of a successful school, and I am excited to work closely with the dedicated teachers, staff members, parents/guardians, and community stakeholders that make up the Grant Elementary School family. Together, we will continue to uphold the school’s reputation for excellence and innovation, and I am confident that our combined efforts will lead to the continued growth and success of each and every student.
I value open communication and transparency. I encourage an environment where ideas and concerns can be shared freely. My door is always open, and I am eager to engage in constructive conversations that contribute to the overall betterment of our school.
As we embark on this journey together, I look forward to getting to know each of you and working collaboratively to ensure the success and well-being of our students.

Saludos Comunidad Grant,
Espero que este mensaje te encuentre bien. Le escribo para presentarme como el nuevo director de la escuela primaria Grant. Es con gran entusiasmo y un profundo sentido de compromiso que asumo este rol para servir a la comunidad y convertirme en parte de la familia de la Escuela Primaria Grant a partir del otoño de 2023.
Llegué a la Escuela Primaria Grant con 23 años de experiencia en educación, habiendo desempeñado varios roles en el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Long Beach como asistente universitario, maestro, facilitador de programas y administrador. Me he desempeñado como director en la escuela primaria Bryant, escuela primaria Roosevelt, director interino en la escuela primaria Burnett, subdirector en la escuela primaria Roosevelt y subdirector en la escuela primaria Grant. He asistido a escuelas en el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Long Beach desde la primaria hasta la secundaria. Obtuve mi Licenciatura y Maestría en Educación de Cal State University, Dominguez Hills. A lo largo de mi carrera, me he dedicado a fomentar un ambiente de trabajo y aprendizaje positivo e inclusivo que promueva la excelencia académica, el crecimiento personal y un fuerte sentido de comunidad entre los estudiantes, el personal y los padres/tutores.
Además de mis logros profesionales, mi mayor logro es mi familia. He criado a mis dos hijos, Ariel (23) y Ryan (21), quienes también asistieron y se graduaron de escuelas en el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Long Beach. Siempre deseo que mis hijos ganen independencia y confianza para ser todo lo que puedan ser. Como directora, mi filosofía educativa se basa en la creencia de que cada estudiante tiene talentos, habilidades y potencial únicos que esperan ser nutridos y fomentados. Estoy comprometido a apoyar a nuestros estudiantes de Grant para que tengan la mejor experiencia posible y alcancen su máximo potencial, al mismo tiempo que enfatizo la importancia del desarrollo del carácter, la empatía y la resiliencia mientras estén en la Primaria Grant.
La colaboración es el corazón de una escuela exitosa y estoy emocionado de trabajar en estrecha colaboración con los dedicados maestros, miembros del personal, padres/tutores y partes interesadas de la comunidad que conforman la familia de la Escuela Primaria Grant. Juntos, continuaremos defendiendo la reputación de excelencia e innovación de la escuela, y estoy seguro de que nuestros esfuerzos combinados conducirán al crecimiento y éxito continuo de todos y cada uno de los estudiantes.
Valoro la comunicación abierta y la transparencia. Fomento un ambiente donde las ideas e inquietudes se puedan compartir libremente. Mi puerta siempre está abierta y estoy ansioso por participar en conversaciones constructivas que contribuyan al mejoramiento general de nuestra escuela.
